Let GRuB Build a Raised or Custom Garden Bed at Your Home!
Did you know that in addition to the gardens we build at no cost for people with low incomes, we also build gardens on a sliding scale for people with higher incomes? We call it our Food Investment Garden (FIG) project.
In 2017, we built 11 FIG gardens which helped subsidize the cost of our free gardens. We also built gardens for the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation & the Olympia Community Court.
GRuB builds raised-bed, double dug, and custom gardens on a sliding–scale price based on your income and family size. All proceeds support GRuB’s work with youth, veterans, food and community.
Which FIG is right for you?
Raised Bed FIG:
We build three 4′ by 8′ bed frames with untreated Douglas fir and fill them with a soil and compost blend. A 7’ trellis is attached to one of the beds. The frames can be stacked to raise the bed to a height that can be managed by those with limited mobility.
Double-Dug & Custom FIGs:
We will work with you to design and build a customized garden using the layout and materials of your choice whether in the ground or raised-bed. Please call us for pricing.
What about seeds and other gardening support?
For an additional $50, you can get the full FIG Package which includes seeds, vegetable starts, a Growing Guide, and free access to GRuB’s gardening workshops for one year.
