Grow Your Own Herbal Support During the COVID-19 Outbreak

This online class and tutorial will cover how to grow a number of essential plants to boost immunity, ease stress, and support the respiratory system.

Included topics are:

  • How to prepare your garden space
  • Easy to grow and use medicinal plants and their properties
  • When and how to plant them from seed and from starts
  • Which parts of the plants to harvest, how, and when
  • Resources on where to purchase seeds and starts locally as well as online

Stay tuned for part II later in the spring where I will cover more in depth about harvesting plants you have planted and medicine making!

This class will be on Zoom online conferencing, it is a free platform for participants. Participants will need wifi internet and to download Zoom application on your computer or mobile device before class. You will receive information on how to download with your registration.

Workshop fees: between $0-30

Class is taught by Ingrid Abbate, a community herbalist in Olympia, Washington. She has a background in small-scale farming medicinal plants and teaching garden based classes in her community. She has 12 years of experience as an herbal medicine grower and medicine maker. Her teachers include herbalists Joyce Nettishen, Elise Krohn, Marja Eloheimo and numerous other plant and ecology professors at The Evergreen State College. She is inspired by the healing and connective power of gathering together as people with plants in the garden.
