We are thrilled to share that GRuB is celebrating our 25th Birthday this year! Back in 2001, the Kitchen Garden Project and the Sister Holly garden joined together to form GRuB, planting seeds for the future.
Our name says it all! GRuB stands for Garden-Raised Bounty, and our mission is simple: when we grow food together in community, we have more abundance. More than bountiful food, we also grow skills, relationships, and a sense of belonging and agency.
Over the years, the GRuB community has come together to support hundreds of youth, thousands of backyard gardeners, schools, families, Veterans, elders, and so many more. Together, we’ve built gardens, raised food, and built a movement.
We will be celebrating this momentous birthday with gatherings, stories, and projects across the year. We will be sharing 25 stories of impact and inspiration, as well as our vision for the future, including the goals in our new strategic plan.
Thanks for helping us grow!
