GRuB's 32 Hour Workweek Pilot and Summer Business Hours

GRuB's 32 Hour Workweek Pilot and Summer Business Hours

GRuB’s Summer Hours will be limited this year.

Here’s what to expect and why!

What:

GRuB will be open to the public Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 10-4.  We’ll do our best to answer the phone and greet visitors during those hours. Tuesdays are closed so that our staff team has time to do our collaborative work.

Please check our calendar for additional events, such as our monthly Wednesdays on the Farm and our open volunteer hours on Wednesday late afternoons.

Why:

This summer, our staff team is doing an experiment! We’ve been learning about 32-hour work weeks. Research from around the world shows that employees can be more productive by actually working fewer hours, with improved focus, efficiency, morale, and work-life balance. In true GRuB spirit, we’re going to try it on this summer, and see if it works for us and our community. We chose to do it during the summer to learn what is possible during our busiest season. We’ll keep you posted about what we learn and whether or not we continue beyond the pilot project.

What if I need to reach somebody outside of these hours?

We will check our main voice mail daily, and route any time sensitive messages to the most relevant staff.

Individual staff will be available outside of our open hours. Please be aware that most of our staff will be off 1 regular weekday per week, so it may take a little longer to get back to inquiries.
