Learn about camas prairie ecosystems that Pacific Northwest regional tribes have cultivated since time immemorial. Many children grow up thinking that humans are harmful to the land. Through learning about cultural ecosystems, youth see how people can promote biodiversity and well-being through conscientious stewardship. We will start the day at GRuB with an overview lesson and then will head to Wolf Haven International in Tenino to explore camas prairie ecosystems. Participants receive a curriculum that fits best with grades 6–12 learning levels but can be adapted for younger children and adults. We will provide light snacks, coffee and tea; bring your own lunch. Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.

We are offering a sliding scale for this workshop. Pay what you can: $100 or $125. Proceeds will cover supply costs and support GRuB programs. We have a limited number of scholarships available for Indigenous educators, for inquiries email: Mariana at mariana@goodgrub.org.

If you are traveling from out of town, we suggest staying at the Squaxin Island Little Creek Casino Resort. They offer room discounts for tribal members.

This workshop is hosted partially at the GRuB farmhouse, there is one disability parking spot in front with a ramp on Elliott Ave and a ramp at the back entrance on Bing Ct. We will start the day at GRuB and then take a field trip to Wolf Haven International, a 30 minute drive from GRuB.
