Wild Food Traditions: Native Berries
Tuesday, July 12th, 10:00-5:00pm, pay what you can: $100 or $125
Registration closes July 7, 2021.
Summer is berry-picking season. Learn to identify, harvest, and prepare eight native berries. We will go through berry lessons for different ages including a slideshow, identification games, berry bingo, art activities, Salish stories, and recipes. We will also cover in depth lessons on huckleberry, salmonberry, and salal. In the afternoon, we will pick berries on the GRuB farm, and then will convene in the kitchen to prepare fruit leather, berry crisp, berry refreshing drinks, and more! Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.
We are offering a sliding scale for this workshop. Proceeds will cover shipping and supply costs and support GRuB programs.
Classes subject to change based on COVID safety protocols.
