We live amidst vibrant communities of cedar, fir, hemlock, pine, and spruce. These trees hold rich cultural traditions and teachings. They also play a powerful role in our environment, shaping the weather and the plant communities beneath them. In this interactive workshop, you will gain skills in tree identification and explore tree food, medicine, and traditional technologies. You will receive materials to make a respiratory steam, forest bathing salts, and tree lip balm plus a curriculum that is adaptable for young kids through adults with lesson plans, an identification key, tree matching cards, Salish stories, and recipes.
