Teacher Training- Wild Food Traditions: Native Berries

Join the Tend, Gather, & Grow Community of Teachers!

Summer is Berry Picking Season.

In this experiential workshop, teachers will learn to identify, harvest, and prepare eight native berries. We will go through berry lessons for different ages including a slideshow, identification games, berry bingo, art activities, and recipes. We will also cover in depth lessons on huckleberry, salmonberry, and salal.

In the afternoon, we will pick berries on the GRuB farm and then will convene in the kitchen to prepare fruit leather, berry crisp, berry refreshing drinks, and more!

Taught by Elise Krohn, GRuB's Director of Traditional Plant Programs.
