Teacher Training - Wild Food Traditions: Native Infusions & Power Snacks - CANCELLED

Join the Tend, Gather, & Grow Community of Teachers!

Wild nutritious foods and medicinal tea plants thrive around us in forests, fields, and even backyards. In this workshop educators will gain skills to teach two lessons.

The first is on native food principles including eating whole foods with an emphasis on wild, seasonal, and sustainably harvested foods. Games compare nutrition content of wild foods with refined foods.

The second lesson is based on the Native Infusion: Rethink Your Drink curriculum and explores common tea plants including dandelion, hawthorn, huckleberry, nettle, and rose. Stories, games, recipes and teaching techniques encourage healthy eating, physical fitness, and connection to culture and the land.

Participants will make and sample delicious snacks and teas.

Taught by Elise Krohn, GRuB's Director of Traditional Plant Programs.

Early bird registration is $100 through September 21st.

Price increases to $125 on September 22nd.
