Join us in increasing healthy relationships, resilient community, and good food in critical times!
With the federal government’s recent elimination of SNAP-Ed, along with changes in Youth Program funding, GRuB is facing a significant new budget gap, on the order of $300,000 or close to 25% of our budget. And, this is happening right when the communities we serve are facing increasing barriers to food, safety, and support—GRuB’s work is more critical than ever.
Our programs are about far more than building gardens or training youth to work at our farm. Growing food together is just the beginning of the deep and meaningful impacts that ripple out from our work. Our programs build relationships, confidence, and community resilience. Participants don’t just gain access to fresh food or work experience—they gain skills, knowledge, and a sense of agency over their lives.
At GRuB, people who have been marginalized feel welcome, valued, and supported. Our programs offer opportunities for healing, leadership development, and cultural exchange. An abundant yield from the farm and gardens may be the most visible result, but the true harvest is a healthier, more connected, more resilient community.
So many members of our community are extra vulnerable this year, whether because of their gender, immigration status, recent loss of a job, mental health stress, or reduced access to social services related to changes in federal policy and state budget. We anticipate that barriers to accessing fresh and healthy food will continue to increase in the months and years ahead. Our work to combat food insecurity is more critical than ever.
Call to Action
With the federal government pulling back from key priorities, it is time for all of us to rally. Will you consider increasing your support for GRuB?
Here are some ways you can help sustain and strengthen our work.
- Share your story. Tell us—and your networks—how gardening, community connection, or GRuB’s programs have made a difference in your life. Your voice helps inspire others to get involved. Submit to coyote@goodgrub.org
- Make a donation. Every gift, large or small, directly supports our ability to keep building gardens, offering education, and fostering connection and resilience.
- Introduce us to potential funders or partners. If you know someone who believes in this work, help us make the connection. Your introduction can open doors to new opportunities. Speak to our Grant Manager, clare@goodgrub.org or our Executive Director, deb@goodgrub.org
- Volunteer your time to grow with us. Join a volunteer work session on the farm to grow more food. Help us reach out to our community by making phone calls, sending emails, or asking for donations on our behalf. Every bit of effort helps us grow our circle of support.
- Attend our Annual Soiree. Our Soiree is coming up, when we’ll launch our new campaign. Even if you can’t join, you can still donate or purchase a ticket for someone else.
Together, we can ensure the GRuB programs continue to respond to community need, and sow the seeds of a more equitable and connected future
