Kim Gaffi has been nurturing GRuB for over two decades! She's decided to transition to the next stage in her professional life and personal calling. It's her turn to GRuBuate!
As she wrote in her letter to our community, "I am one of those lucky people who have had the opportunity to do the work of their heart for many years (23 to be exact). When I left Evergreen, I wanted to be a part of cultural change, and during my journey at GRuB, I have seen glimmers of what humanity is meant to be. I have seen lonely, confused, and hurting individuals (myself included) come alive by virtue of being truly seen, heard, and needed. This is not rocket science, not magic, not youth development, not really... it's evolution. For three million years, we evolved in the context of small, interdependent communities, and our psychology, our physiology, our spirituality are made for that experience. That's been GRuB's healing work, to bring people together on the land, in community, and with purpose." (To read the full letter, click here.)
Kim's personality, wisdom, and passions are woven throughout GRuB’s culture and programs, through her warm and welcoming presence, her focus on social justice and youth, and her fierce love for land, people, and community. Her wonder and curiosity have inspired a whole generation of leaders, educators, and activists. Thanks to Kim’s vision, persistence, and care, GRuB is planted in rich soil indeed!
Kim's last day as a staff person at GRuB will be December 18, although she plans to stay engaged as a volunteer, donor, and consultant. She can't get away from GRuB's tendrils so easily!
We invite you to join us on Thursday, December 12th for an evening celebrating Kim and wishing her well on this next chapter in her glorious life adventure. Click here to learn more about the event. We hope to see you there!
